  • Do you offer separate classes for different skill levels?
    Yes, we offer three different classes: Tiny Tigers (ages 3-10) General Class (ages 10+), open to all levels from beginner to Black Belt Kime Class (for Brown Belt and advanced students, subject to demand)
  • How often are students tested for belt promotions?
    Belt grading takes place twice per year.
  • Do you include sparring (kumite) in training? If so, at what level?
    Yes, in the General Class sparring is kept at 30-50% power. Tiny Tigers do not participate in sparring.
  • Who are the instructors, and what are their qualifications?
    Sensei Richard Gale holds the rank of Rokudan (6th Dan- Black Belt)
  • How long have they been teaching karate?
    As an instructor, Sensei Richard has been teaching since 1990, coaching state and national squads. He holds various qualifications, including Level 4 National Referee certification with the International Sports Karate Federation (ISKA), Senior First Aid certification, a Blue Card, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • What safety measures are in place to prevent injuries?
    · We have a Full-Time First Aid Officer. · Mats are used during certain training sessions. · Protective gear (gloves, mouthguard, groin guard, and shin guards) are required for sparring.
  • Do you participate in tournaments, and are they mandatory?
    Yes, we encourage students to participate in tournaments. We also provide additional training to help them prepare. However, participation is completely optional and not required.
  • How long does it typically take to progress through the belt ranks?
    A student with no prior experience can expect to reach Black Belt in approximately six years.
  • What is the highest rank a student can achieve in this dojo?
    Tiny Tigers can achieve junior black belt (white with black stripe). In the General Class, students can advance up to 3rd Dan Black Belt.
  • Do you offer a free trial class before committing?
    Yes! New students receive two weeks (four consecutive lessons) free, with no obligation.
  • What is your policy on missed classes?
    Students will not be charged for missed classes.
  • Can I watch a class before signing up?
    Absolutely! You are welcome to observe a class before making a decision.
